Here’s what some past bus tour participants have to say.
“I went on the Mexico bus tour twice and without any doubt, I can say that it was the most enriching experience for my Krishna consciousness. It put me out of my comfort zone and so I had to be bold to share Krishna with others. And not just me, but I saw so many of the devotee youth grow in their Krishna consciousness. I saw someone distributing their first book. I saw the devotee youth share Krishna through kirtana, through lectures, through plays. The bus tour encouraged me to share Krishna even after the tour was over. It instilled in me a deep desire to serve in Srila Prabhupada’s movement and Lord Chaitanya’s Sankirtana mission.” –Sruti Sagara Dasa, Political Science major, graduate student at University of Florida, Gainesville.
“I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. It was so exciting, full of thrills and adventures. And then on the other side we had this wonderful preaching experience. Many of us had never distributed books before, or done stage performances in front of people who didn’t speak our language. But somehow through our presentations we showed them Krishna consciousness and having that experience was such a wonderful thing. And I made lifelong friends. It was life changing for me.” –Tulasi Harrison, London, UK
“Just to go traveling with so many other young people, preaching together, it was such good fun. It was really nice that there was that facility. I can travel to the other side of the world, meet other young devotees, have such good fun, and be preaching… so nice for Krishna consciousness. It was so nice. And I hope it carries on and that so many other young people get the chance. It’s really enlivening to be out there, fulfilling Lord Chaitanya’s mission, and serving Srila Prabhupada together, as youth. It’s fantastic!” –Hema Mukhi dd, London, UK
“I made so many treasured memories with everybody. I really didn’t expect that when I’d leave Europe for the first time, that a few Facebook messages and an airplane ticket would lead me to 30 odd new family members. I really really learned that Krishna does follow you everywhere and looks out for you. I really felt that when I went to the pyramids and I just happened to be drawing Jagannatha and someone came and gave me Jagannatha Maha like in the middle of Mexico not near anything. So it really made me learn that Krishna looks after you completely and absolutely.” –Chaitanya H., London, UK
“I went on the tour knowing only three people and before I got there I was so so scared. But by the end of it I had made so many friends I just didn’t want to leave and go home. I love the tour because it allowed me to explore a whole new place and have fun while also being able to spread Krishna consciousness. With every village and every show that we did it was such a great experience, and it was so incredible to see so many people take to the Holy Name so quickly. At every show there’d be people crying, people dancing, people laughing, and it was just so amazing and I made so many memories I’ll never forget. And I plan on going on a lot more bus tours in the future.” –Anasuya H, London, UK
“If you haven’t already heard, the bus tours are fantastic! You’ll hear that from everyone who’s gone on one. I went on my first one last year. It was the best holiday, spiritual and social experience of my life! And, I can’t wait for next year. In fact I’ve already signed up. Hope to see you there!” — Lakshman, Berkeley, California
“The Mexico Bus Tour changed my life. Singing kirtan to hundreds of people who have never heard Krishna’s name before and watching them open their hearts to Him was the most rewarding experience I’ve ever had.” — Krishna Jivani, Chicago, IL
“It was one of the best experiences of my life. It was such an incredible opportunity to spend such quality time with such a sweet group of people, actually getting to know Krishna. I had never really experienced that sort of situation where you’re traveling with people, they become like your family, but the focal point of your interaction is something so sweet and so focused on something that was actually meaningful. So I really enjoyed that aspect of it. On top of that you’re doing all of these crazy cool things, and experiencing so many things that I don’t think I would ever do on my own accord, or on my own in that way. I couldn’t recommend it more. It was actually the first time that I’d ever done book distribution, and it ended up being in a language that I didn’t even speak. And it was actually really satisfactory realizing that Krishna is so accessible to so many people and being given the opportunity to actually share Him and, at least for me personally, to really build my confidence in starting to distribute this amazing knowledge that we have. It’s such a joyous and really moving experience. To have the option to spend such incredible time in such an incredible place with people who are all like-minded doing something that’s actually worth your while. I would like to do it again soon.”
Radhika A., Watford, UK

“I went on six bus tours and they were the best summers ever.” –Chintamoni B., California
“The tour was AMAZING… What more could you ask for than doing kirtan on beautiful beaches with other sweet devotee youth, eating incredibly delicious prasadam, going sightseeing, and the best part, spreading Krsna’s Holy name and having SO much fun simultaneously :-)” –Kalindi P., Dallas, TX
“It was the most amazing experience of my life. It was not easy, but the best things never are.” 🙂 –Cristie B., Chicago
“I was fortunate to be able to go on the tour. I truly feel this project is one of the most important projects ISKCON has to offer. It’s totally ecstatic and significant in it’s preaching value, and gives our youth (and those not so young) opportunities not to be found elsewhere.” –Purusartha Dasa, Florida
“I loved it so much! I hope to be able to go again sometime.” –Krsna Chandra M., Toronto
“You bring people together. We are one big family and we get the opportunity to associate this way. So thank you! Having not been raised around devotees it was really nice to connect with others my age who had grown up in similar situations. There was no explaining, watering down my beliefs, asking if the food was vegetarian. It was a simply refreshing experience on that level and I swear the people I met I already knew from another lifetime and we got to finally see each other again.” –Radha-Prema P., Montreal
“I was on the bus tour for the first half of the summer and I have to say that my only concern was… why hadn’t I gone before?! It was such an amazing and special experience getting to bond with other devotees that I thought I already knew. I made so many close friends and we all got a chance to inspire each other. Being a part of the stage performance was one thing that I absolutely loved. Getting to spread Krsna to so many people who otherwise would have had no clue is such a wonderful privilege that [the organizers] gave me that summer. I was overwhelmed by the response that we got everywhere that we went. We brought a constant party with us and I loved getting to do kirtan any time of the day or night with all the people that I love.” –Acyuta Gopi, New York
“Best time of my life :)” –Braja D., North Carolina
“The bus tour changed my life forever. It’s as simple as that. Three tours later, not a day goes by that I don’t feel something in my life touched by the wealth of experiences, personal growth and spiritual inspiration that I experienced during those summers.” –Jahnavi Harrison, UK
“It was the most wonderful experience of my life. There are no words to express those special moments with wonderful devotees.” –Narahari, Brazil
